Step 1: join up

For allmost all Development tools you to join some developers network. You might want to get yourself an extra E-Mail address because most those sites also use a confimation mail. Anything to make using a web site difficult.

Symbian is the operating system underneath UIQ3.

Symbian applications need to be signed before deployment. However, why there is an extra site with an extra registration is beyond me

Where you can get a free compiler for Windows and Linux.

Step 3: Installation

DevCertRequest_30_10_2006_v2.0.exe 
Needed to create a Developers Certificate. You need a certificate to install Software on the phone.
UIQ3SDK.exe 
The main Develoment Tools. Also containts active Perl and a phone simulator to test your applications and an oder CodeSourcey (2005-05-19) compiler.
semc_p990_sdk_extension_beta_0_5.exe 
Extension for the P990i phone. You only need this package if you target the phone.
sdk_ogles_symbian_uiq3_armv4_1.09.19.2235b.zip
